On November 22nd, 1963, Jackie Kennedy Onassis became the image of national mourning with her pink suit stained by the blood of her husband, John F. Kennedy, who was fatally shot right beside her. Beyond this iconic moment, Onassis became one of the most admired first ladies in American history with her elegance, class, and fervor of the arts. During her time as the first lady, Onassis welcomed renowned musicians, writers, and scientists to interact with the top politicians of the time.
