Femme's & Women's History Series

Equality for HER's Femme's & Women's History Series was created in March 2014 to coincide with Women's History Month. The first edition of the series featured minimalist graphics of historic figures from the past and present, with an emphasis on the empowerment of women and femmes. The series was featured by the staff of Tumblr for it's intersectional approach toward women's history. In 2015, our series was redesigned to include photorealistic graphics and again spanned the entire month of March. During 2016 due to a restructuring and rebranding of our mission and purpose, Equality for HER discontinued the series.

Fortunately, thanks to the artistic brilliance of artist Monique Le and the collaborative efforts of Glendon Francis, Ammarah Rehman, Najma Sharif, and Lori Ro, the series took on an entirely new dimension for Women's History Month 2017. During March 2017 we featured over 25 figures from diverse cultures, career fields, and backgrounds including the creators of the Women's March on Washington and the founders of Black Lives Matter.

The Equality for HER History Series continues to expand. Our next endeavor is the creation of a full length book featuring over 50 women and femmes from around the world. Our hope is to provide both youth and adults with a mirror to themselves so that they may take an empowered approach to their future endeavors.
