Tell Your Story: Mawal Sidi

I’ve been raised Muslim and I come from a country where almost everyone is Muslim. I never felt like I have to tell someone I am Muslim - the hijab already does it for me. I think everyone and their grandmother has heard that Islam teaches peace and yet a lot of people choose not to believe it.  I just want to say to America that Islam is not out to get you.

The Muslim Project: Meet Maheen Khalid

I was born and raised in Karachi, Pakistan. My father was a civil engineer and my mother was a stay home mom with a Bachelor’s of Science. She always gave us the extra help and attention we needed for any task in life. I never needed another resource other than her.

The Muslim Project: Meet Meriam Salem

I'm studying International Relations with a focus on development and identity, race, gender, and culture. I'm also minoring in Communications with a focus in Film and Media. Being Muslim in the West you learn quickly that certain politicians don't care about you. They don't care about the implications of their phobic language or how it leads to animosity towards you, your family, and friends throughout your life.
